Cincinnati United Premier is happy to announce the hiring of Phil Knorr as Zone 1 Director of CUP Boys. He will be tasked with helping the coaches and players of our top U10 Cincinnati United teams from the CU Lakota/Monroe, CU Lebanon, CU Southeast and CU Sycamore/Mason silos. More specifically, Knorr will focus on coaching education and player identification, as well as educating potential future CUP parents on the program. Additionally, Phil will be working on his Grassroots Instructors License in the coming year, so that we may provide a greater scope of coaching education in our market.
“I am excited to bring Phil into our environment,” stated Boys CUP Technical Director. “I have had the opportunity to watch him within the DA setting at his former club and have always been impressed with his understanding of the game and maybe more importantly, his delivery of information to his players. I know that he will fit in immediately within our coaching staff in CUP, the DA and within CU.”
Originally from Columbus Ohio, Phil has most recently been the Academy Director of Campton United DA of Illinois and holds the USSF ‘A’ license. His teaching experience also includes ID2 staff, Top Soccer, Capital University, and the Special Olympics. He played at Ohio Dominican University and finished with a BA of Psychology and AA of Philosophy.
Knorr commented on his hiring, saying, "I'm honored to be a part of the Cincinnati United soccer community and thank Scott Bower for this tremendous opportunity to continue my professional development. Being an Ohio native, I am excited to return home and begin work at the premier youth soccer club in the state. CUP has an outstanding reputation both within the region and across the country. I look forward to contributing to the club’s continued success both on and off the field."
Phil will officially begin with Cincinnati United Premier in July 2019.
