Anna Podojil, a U17/CUP 00 Gold player and University of Arkansas verbal commit, has been called in to the US Soccer U18 Girls National Team Camp being held April 15-22 in Chula Vista, California.
Podojil is the sixth CUP player since March of 2016 to be called in to a US Soccer National Team Camp. CU/CUP has had more players called in to national team camps during this time than any other club in the state.
In the last 12 months, the club has had more than 40 players (girls and boys) invited to US Soccer Training Centers. The club has had more girls and more boys invitees than any other club in the area. Training Centers (TC) are conducted by members of the U.S. Soccer National Team staff. TCs are designed to improve player identification, player development, and coach development.
In addition, the club has 7 girls players invited to the Midwest Regional Combine for US Soccer in April. This combine brings together the top players from multiple US Soccer Training Centers for a weekend event. The event replicates a national team environment and aids in the selection of players for future national team camps.
And, CUP has had multiple players selected to the US Club Soccer id2 Camp. The camp provides an opportunity for the country’s elite youth soccer players to be identified and developed, and scouted for inclusion in U.S. Soccer’s National Team programs.
